Competition Theme

Gratitude

The theme “Gratitude, ‘Joy in the little things’ was chosen for the 2024 theme as it is focuses on, reflection, appreciation and acknowledgment of what is important to you in your day to day.

At Jigsaw we recognise when we are going through difficult times, worries and fear can take up a lot of our focus. The practice of finding ways to be grateful, appreciative and thankful can encourage us to broaden our perspective on life. Unfortunately, it does not always take our worries away but allows us space to think of the bigger picture.

The theme was decided following a consultation session with Jigsaw Donegal Youth Advocates. Youth Advocates in Donegal play a crucial role in helping Jigsaw achieve its vision for an Ireland where every young person’s mental health is valued and supported. Youth Advocates do this by creating understanding, raising awareness of and promoting youth mental health within their own community. The theme for this year’s Art Competition will facilitate the opportunity for young people show us what little things are important to them.
